"The Epic of Gilgamesh." This website provides an insight to the journey of the great Gilgamesh and some things we, the creators of the website, have learned about it. Creating this website gives a purpose of poeple interested in learning of great myths and inspired to possibly make one of their own. It can be used as a study tool for students or as an interesting topic to just read if you are in to myths.
Summary: The ultimate ruler of Uruk, Gilgamesh was considered 2/3 God and 1/3 Human. After pleas from the people of Uruk to the Gods to do something about the tyrannical Gilgamesh, the Gods created Enkidu. However, Enkidu and Gilgamesh became great friends and went on some great adventures with each other. Tragedy then struck when Enkidu fatally died from an illness plagued by the Gods. Now, Gilgamesh is a bit paranoid about the possiblitity of his own death. Therefore, Gilgamesh travels to great lengths to find a secret plant that apparently restores youth and makes you immortal. Unfortunately, after the plant is found, a snake steals it from Gilgamesh and diminishes his chances of being alive for eternity. Gilgamesh returned to Uruk and wrote his epic journey on a stone tablet.
